Seattle Seahawks star wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba has officially entered the upper echelon of the NFL, landing at No. 5 on the league’s annual player-voted Top 100 Players of 2026 list.
The dramatic surge makes JSN only the fourth player in franchise history to finish inside the Top 10 since the NFL started the annual player rankings in 2011. He joins elite company alongside quarterback Russell Wilson (who reached No. 2 in 2020), cornerback Richard Sherman (No. 7 in 2014), and running back Marshawn Lynch (No. 9 in 2015). Smith-Njigba’s debut marks the second-highest ranking ever achieved by a Seattle player and the highest-ever debut ranking in franchise history.
The national recognition comes on the heels of a monumental 2025 campaign in which Smith-Njigba helped lead Seattle to a Super Bowl LX championship victory. Establishing himself as the league’s premiere pass-catcher, JSN earned AP Offensive Player of the Year and First-Team All-Pro honors after setting single-season franchise records with 119 receptions and an NFL-leading 1,793 receiving yards alongside 10 touchdown catches. His 1,793 receiving yards represented the eighth-most in a single season in NFL history.
Following his historic championship performance, Seattle rewarded their star receiver with a lucrative four-year extension, locking him in as the undisputed focal point of the offense. As the Seahawks kickoff the 2026 season, JSN stands firmly recognized by his peers as one of the true faces of the NFL.
