Nostalgic toy lovers across Washington State have a major reason to celebrate as Toys “R” Us prepares for a major brick-and-mortar comeback across the Pacific Northwest.

Nearly a decade after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and closing its flagship locations nationwide in 2018, parent brand WHP Global and Go! Retail Group announced a massive U.S. expansion featuring 120 standalone stores. As part of the national rollout ahead of the holiday season, Washington is securing at least three standalone locations: the South Hill Mall in Puyallup, The Outlet Collection Seattle in Auburn, and Vancouver Mall.

Unlike typical temporary pop-up shops, local mall representatives confirmed that stores like the South Hill Mall location have secured long-term leases running through the holidays and into next year. The new locations will feature interactive play zones, dedicated character displays, and classic Geoffrey the Giraffe meet-and-greets.

While the brand previously reintroduced mini-shops inside Macy’s department stores, these standalone storefronts mark a return to the full-scale toy shopping experience. For parents who grew up browsing the iconic aisles, the comeback offers a chance to share childhood memories with a new generation of young shoppers.
